WHEREAS Saint Boniface became a City on May 1st 1908; and
WHERAS the citizens of Saint Boniface, through their joie de vivre, their perseverance, their innovative spirit represent a vital force, a bilingual presence in Manitoba’s capital; and
WHERAS Saint Boniface, with is rich history and cultural life, is a unique destination for Winnipeggers and visitors alike, and thereby contributes to the prosperity of our society; and
WHEREAS Saint Boniface is once again alive with the same optimism and leadership which lead to its incorporation in 1908,
I Joseph A.F. Bleau, mayor of Saint Boniface at the time of its incorporation, do hereby proclaim the year 2008 as

In Saint Boniface and I call upon the people of the province to actively participate in the many festivities that will be organized to recognize this important chapter in our history and the fundamental role Saint Boniface plays in our province’s capital today.
